Time to begin Editing!

Image
Hi Blog! I hope you are having a terrific day. I, however, am not. My music video is taking a bit of a turn. My phone broke, so Mya and I will be taking a different take on our original plan. We will be doing more of an in my life sort of thing. I will vlog my days and just take videos of different things I see. Although at first this stumped me, I think things will turn out better than I predicted. Now that I have new media, I finally get to start editing. I am super excited to put my video together! I am going to edit the second 15 seconds because Mya is doing the first. We split this up because we knew we both wanted to edit. I will be using Capcut again. I  truly love  this app because it makes editing easier!  I think our new approach correlates really well with the song.  Even though what happened to our previous media was unfortunate, it truly improved our project.  On Capcut, I am able to make split screens and add different filters. This editing really fits the typical conve

The picnic

Hi Blog! Today I will be talking about filming! Wednesday afternoon, my team and I filmed another scene. This scene took place in a park nearby. It was a picnic scene! We each brought our food in. I brought in fruit and chips. Before we could eat, I had to film! I remember discussing with Mya what shots we should include. I wanted to do a few over the shoulder shots, so I did.  I think the media  came out great. After filming, we were allowed to enjoy the props.  I ate a doughnut and fruit. They were so delicious. I'm super excited to begin editing. My editing plan is to edit the beach scenes. I already have a solid idea of how I want it to look. I will be using cap cut, like I did with my commercial. I hope you all enjoyed today’s blog. Thank you for reading!

First time Filming!

Image
Hi Blog! My team finally began filming. On Tuesday there was no school, so I took the opportunity to begin filming! It was a tricky process, but  I really think it all  came together!         When I first arrived only Mya was there. The beach looked beautiful, and I was happy we could film there. This was perfect because I had to discuss our exact plan with her. We each decided on specific shots to film. I know I wanted to do a long shot. I knew on the beach that a long shot with our actor centered would look great! Mya agreed with me, and we spent time together until the rest of our team arrived. Once the actors arrived, I began the filming process. The first thing I did to help was check the costumes. I made sure everyone's outfit and hair were perfect. Once the costumes were to my liking, Mya told them where to go. I agreed to this placement, so we started filming!  I filmed with my phone camera, and it came out really nice. I hope you all enjoyed today's blog. Although it

I'm the Costume Designer!

Image
Hi Blog!   Today I will be discussing our costumes! My team does not have a set budget, so our costumes will be from our personal closets! I was selected as our team's costume designer. As the costume designer, I will FaceTime the cast and help decide their outfits! I am super excited to take on this role.   The first few outfits I designed were for Riley . Riley's outfit was the simplest because she had a ton of clothes that could work. I decided to put her in som e je a n shorts with a loose sweater. This works because her character would be taking pictures of the birthday girl, therefore she do es not need to be dressed up.   Riley's second outfit will be her pajamas when the birthday girl calls her. I want to give her messy hair, so it looks like she just woke up. Then maybe some of those pimple patches. I told her I would love to see her wearing a big sh irt with some sweatpants. I believe these touches will really convey that she has just woken up.   Meanw

The Search Begins

Hi blog! Today I will be discussing a dilemma my group is currently facing. A lack of actors. Luckily, I have found a solution. Many of my friends are in media studies as well, so they do not want to be in another video. Then today in class, I realized I could just ask around. Although I expected many  no's , my friend Khila said yes! I have two classes with her, and I know she is very trustworthy! After I found my main actress, I needed to find some background actors. Luckily Khila had some friends who were willing to join the process. I’m hoping everybody will be able to work well together. Now that we have a cast, I created a group chat. We are currently discussing film dates. Although we don’t know when to film yet, I decided a few of us could go prop shopping. Now tomorrow, others and I will go to the dollar store in order to get supplies! I’m really excited. Luckily  us  going shopping live near each other! I would go shopping directly after school, but I have clubs. That’s
